CKSS outlasts UCC in Kent Hockey Semi-Final

Chatham, ON – Ashwin Roy was a rock on the blueline for the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks leading his team with 2 goals and 2 assists in a dramatic 6-5 win over UCC in the KCSSAA Semi-Final hocket game.

Early in the game, UCC got out to a 3-1 lead, but CKSS bounced back scoring 4 unanswered goals to lead 5-3 heading into the third. UCC wasn’t dead however scoring twice early in the third period to tie the game before Lucas Stanhope roofed the game winner for the Golden Hawks with less than 2:00 minutes remaining.

Other goal scorers for the CKSS Golden Hawks were Laine Poirer, Alexander Miller, and Derek Daly. Scoring for the UCC Lancers was Dillon Liberty, Brandon Dube with 2, Mitchell Burton, and Josh House.

CKSS now advances to play the winner of the other semi-final between John McGregor and Lambton-Kent. Three time defending champions Wallaceburg finished last this season and failed to qualify for the post season.
