Dresden, ON – It didn’t go exactly as planned, but the first place Lambton-Kent Composite School Cardinals managed to escape a pesky JMSS Panthers squad with a 4-3 win to advance to the Kent Championships Final next week against the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks.

John McGregor got on the board early and held much of the play against LKCS. Skylar Dacosta scored all three goals for the JMSS Panthers in a game that also featured several rough moments. Multiple players were ejected from the game for checking from behind, and for other incidents in the skirmishes that followed.

In the end, Lambton-Kent was too powerful for John McGregor with Matt Liberty and Jesse Welch each picking up two goals in the game. Scotty Deline picked up the win in net for the Cardinals.

Next week, CKSS Golden Hawks and LKCS Cardinals will meet in a battle of the first versus second place regular season teams.
