Chatham Ringette Roundup, Thunder Keep Rolling

The undefeated Cement Man Chatham Thunder U10 visited the Mitchell Stingers this Sunday for a double header. Chatham’s first opponent would be Mitchell White, who they soundly beat 5-0. Courtney Legere started the scoring early within 20 seconds of game’s start. Lydia Harron followed up assisted by Ireland DaSilva. DaSilva would score the last goal of the first half, unassisted. The second period saw the Chatham Thunder add two more goals by Leah Thompson and Courtney Legere, both unassisted.

Three hours later, the U10 Thunder faced Mitchell Black, beating them 7-2. Courtney Legere scored the first goal, assisted by Camille Blain. Lydia Harron followed up to increase Chatham’s lead assisted by Legere. Erica Anderson got a piece of the action pocketing the ring assisted by Camille Blain. Natasha Anderson scored assisted by Delaney George, while Courtney Legere added the final goal of the first half assisted by Emilie Newman. Mitchell Black would answer with a single goal in the first half. The second half was mostly a defensive game with no goals scored until late in the half. Delaney George would score late in the second half unassisted. Delaney later added a second goal assisted by Erica Anderson.

The Chatham U10 Thunder will face some strong teams this coming weekend at the annual Guelph Tournament.

The Boson Pizza U12 team had a winning weekend on the road.

Saturday the Thunder travelled back to Tillsonburg for a game with the Twisters and came home with a 5-2 win.  Emily Raaymakers led the Thunder with  a hat trick in this game and Chantelle and Courtney Legere both scored single goals for the win. Emily Anderson and Courtney Legere both had one assist.

On Sunday, the U12 Chatham Thunder ringette team ventured to the North for a double header. The first game of the day was in Goderich with Chatham skating to a 4-2 win over the home team. Evelyn McKay-Barr had two goals in this game along with Sorcha Rountree  and Rachel Benn both adding a goal each.  The Chatham Thunder team then travelled to Seaforth to take on the Storm leaving town with a convincing 9-3 win. Abbie Chandler scored 3 goals, while Rachel Carlton added 2. Niyah Poole, Rachel Benn and Regan Owen all popped in single markers. Olivia Eskritt was the winning goalie.
