The Wallaceburg Red Devils continued their winning ways, topping Owen Sound 13-7 at Memorial Arena.. Clint lamarsh had 4 goals and 2 assists, while Robbie Pollock and Reid Miller both had 3 goals and 2 assists to lead the Devils. Wallaceburg improved theor record to 10-6 on the year, and they still trail London by two points for the lead in the Far West Division.

Chatham-Kent Cougars Football

Peewee Varsity; 19-6 loss against the Twin City Predators

Bantam Varsity – Bi-week

Junior Varsity; 36-29 Loss against the Huronia Stallions

Senior Varsity; 21-21 against the Burlington Stampeders

Stanley Cup Final

The LA Kings will hope to hoist the Stanley Cup tonight at home, as they cling to a 3-2 lead in the Finals. The Devils have rattled off two straight wins after being behind 3-0. Puck drops tonight at 8 p.m.

The Detroit Red Wings sent defenceman Brad Stuart back to the San Jose Sharks yesterday for forward Andrew Murray and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2014. Stuart had said he wanted to be closer to his family, who still lives in the San Jose area.

French Open tennis

The mens final was suspended yesterday due to rain, and will finish up this morning. No. 2-seeded Raphael Nadal is clinging to a 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 1-2 lead over a surging Novak Djokovic, who’s seeded No. 1.

In a battle of Chatham drivers, Gregg Haskell passed veteran Brad Authier for the lead with two laps to go and went on to win the Late Model feature race in front of a large Family Night crowd Saturday at South Buxton Raceway. Blenheim’s Shawn Jones won his third Comp 4 feature of the season. Merlin’s Steve Shaw captured the Sport Stocks feature for the second week in a row, with rookie Willy Vyse Smith of Wallaceburg finished third after winning the crack-the-whip qualifying race earlier in the night. Leamington’s Joel Dick won his third UMP Modified feature of the year, with rookie driver Drew Smith of Wallaceburg finishing eighth.

Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix for the third time yesterday. This marks the seventh different car in as many Formula One races to win this season.

NASCAR

Joey Logano won the Pocono 400 on Sunday for his second NASCAR win and his first in three years. Mark Martin came in second, and Tony Stewart ran third.

Euro 2012

In Group C action yesterday, Spain and Italy tied 1-1, while Croatia beat Ireland 3-1. Today, England will face France, and Sweden will battle Ukraine.
