Senior football

On Saturday, the Tartans senior boys football team is hosting the SWOSSAA Final. Leamington Cardinal Carter is coming to town to take on the undefeated Wallaceburg Tartans club. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. Dan Fox, a two-way player for the Tartans, says they really came together as a team this season and the whole team is excited for tomorrow’s game. If the Tartans win, they will have a chance to compete for the provincial crown against a London squad.


No action last night, but tonight,

The Dresden Kings are hosting the Wheatley Sharks. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. in Dresden.

The Wallaceburg Lakers are on the road, they head to Belle River tonight for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

And Alvinston hosts North Middle sex in an Interlock division match-up.


Leamington beat Lasalle 5-2.

Lambton Shores beat Sarnia 4-3 in OT.

In the O

Seth Griffith had a huge night for the London Knights, scoring the OT winner in a 4-3 win over Oshawa. Griffith assisted on the three other Knights goals in regulation for a 4-point night.

Windsor beat Saginaw 6-1.

Barrie beat Sarnia 5-3.


Buffalo beat Miami 19-14.


A historic year came to a deserving close for the Detroit Tigers third baseman. Miguel Cabrera was named the American League MVP, after posting the first Triple Crown since 1967 and leading the Tigers to the American League pennant. Giants catcher Buster Poesy was named the NL MVP.
