The Dresden Kings took Game 2 over Blenheim last night winning 2-1. Josh Beatty opened up the scoring for the Kings in the first period, before Dylan Mertz netted the game winner at the 5:50 mark of the third period. Brent Paxton stopped 25 shots for the win. With the series tied at one game apiece, Game 3 of the best-of-seven shifts back to Dresden tomorrow night. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
The Essex 73s grabbed a 2-0 series lead over Kingsville, with a 4-3 win. The 73s had jumped out to a 4-0 lead, and the Kingsville rally fell just a bit short. Game 3 is tomorrow night in Essex.
Belle River beat the Mooretown Flags 3-1 last night. The Canadiens lead their series 2-0. Game 3 is in Belle River tomorrow night.
And it was Wheatley jumping out to a 2-0 series lead as well, as the Sharks topped Alvinston 4-2. Game 3 is tomorrow night in Alvinston.
