Essex Wins Great Lakes Championship, 7-4

The Wheatley Sharks could not stop the Essex 73s’ Alex Garon, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

Garon’s first goal came 4:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:10 into the first and at 18:27 into the second.

The win by Essex clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

Wheatley was unable to stop the 73s from sending pucks towards the net, and Essex eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Essex additionally got points from Jordan Brohman, who also registered three goals and two assists. Essex also got a goal from Matthew Hebert as well. More assists for Essex came via Kevin Boggs, Adam Dunmore, and Aaron Thibert, who contributed one a piece and Blaise Baillargeon and Corey Beaulieu, who each chipped in two.
