Jesse “The Ghost” Gross entered his ECC 17 bout against Tristan Johnson as the underdog, he walked away as the champion.

Wallaceburg’s Jesse Gross was Canada’s 10th ranked featherweight heading into the fight, while Johnson was the 4th ranked fighter in the country, but it was Gross who took home a win by unanimous decision, 30-27.

The Extreme Cage Combat fight, held in Halifax, was Gross’ second in the featherweight division, following a win as a part of the Score Fighting Series in Sarnia late last year.

With the win, Gross improves to 8-3 professionally and will be considered a top prospect in his new weight class.
