Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham may find himself on the sideline, after the Pittsburgh Steelers kicker injured himself over the weekend.

“On the injury front, Shaun Suisham injured his hamstring in the pregame,” said Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. “He was able to get through today. We’ll see what that holds.”

Suisham was forced to kick only once Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers were unable to generate much offense in their 16-9 season opening loss to the Tennessee Titans.

The veteran did not attempt a field goal, but did kick an extra point after Jerrico Cotchery’s touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Suisham did however factor in to two of the Steelers other points, as his opening kick off resulted in a safety by Titans player Darius Reynaud.

Suisham will receive extra rest this week, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, September 16.

This is such a bummer for Shaun! I certainly hope the extra rest this week helps him and that he will be good to go for the Monday Night game on Sept.16th.
