Ursuline College, the only school in Chatham-Kent with a wrestling team, brought six of their wrestlers to SWOSSAA, held in Sarnia at St. Clair Secondary School.

Four of the UCC Lancers wrestlers were top 4 finishers. Mitchell Hart took 3rd place in 130g boys, Jillian Toulouse also took 3rd in 67.5 kg girls, while the school’s 4th place finishers were Athena Charbonneau 54kg girls, and Justen Brooksbank 95kg boys.

“I thought the season went great,” says Jillian Toulouse about her school’s strong finish. “My coach and teammates definitely encouraged me to be a stronger and better wrestler, but not only me, we all encouraged each other.”

Toulouse was the 67.5 kg LSSAA champion.

The UCC wrestlers fought hard all season, competing in tournaments in Windsor, as well as Sarnia and Petrolia throughout the season capturing many medals.

The team had 4 girls and 12 boys and is coached by Chris Parent, a past Canadian wrestling champion.
