The Chatham Maroons know their opponent for round two of the GOJHL Western Conference playoffs, and it will be the LaSalle Vipers.

The Maroons finished third in the Western Conference in the regular season, 8-points behind the LaSalle Vipers, however the margin was much closer than it seemed, as Chatham had four points stripped after an import card issue.

Chatham swept the Strathroy Rockets in four games to open the GOJHL playoffs, while LaSalle took out St. Thomas in five games.

The two teams split their season series 3-3, however the Maroons dominated their match ups in the season’s second half, including a 8-1 beating January 29, the last time the two teams met.

The Vipers will need to shut down Chatham’s top line to be successful, as Kyle Brothers and Adam Arseneault each scored 10 points in the 4 game series against Strathroy, while Michael Verboom had 7 points in 4 games.

LaSalle also features a high powered offense including Devon Paliani who had 10 points in 5 first round games, as well as Aaron Luchuk and Dylan Denomme who had 8 and 7 points respectively.

A schedule for this series has yet to be announced.
