The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks took both the boys and girls senior soccer titles Thursday at UCC.

In the girls final, UCC and CKSS entered with identical, undefeated records, but it was the Golden Hawks who took home a 1-0 victory.

The only goal in the game came several minutes into overtime as Rayne Kellier, who had just finished qualifying for OFSAA regionals track and field in multiple events in Windsor, fired a shot past the UCC netminder to lift her team to a victory.

The boys final ended in dramatic fashion, needing a shootout to decide the victory.

CKSS outscored UCC 5-4 in the shootout to grab the victory.

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks girls will host the Sarnia Northern Vikings in the SWOSSAA AAA semifinal Tuesday at 4pm, while UCC will host Sarnia St. Patricks in the SWOSSAA AAAA semifinal Tuesday at 3pm. The boys play the same schools, however will be visitors in each match.
