The Chatham Thunder U19 ‘A’ team and Thunder U16 ‘B’ team each captured tournament titles over the weekend, bringing home gold the Chatham.

The Chatham Thunder U-19 A won Gold at the 1st Annual Mississauga Ringette tournament. Jordan Dziver scored the winning goal in overtime in a 6-5 win over Richmond Hill in the final game on Sunday.

Hannah Doforno had a hat trick in the win, while Courtney Roberts, and Kara Hueniken were other goal scorers. Assists in the championship game went to Kelsey Zondag, Courtney Roberts, Kara Hueniken, Vivian Dowdell, Tess Scaman, and Hannah Doforno, with Alissa Reid taking the victory in net.

In round robin play, the Chatham Thunder defeated Burlington 4-2, Richmond Hill 9-7, Guelph 8-3, and Ayr 3-0.

Kara Hueniken had 9 goals, Hannah Doforno 8, and Courtney Roberts 3, with singles going to Taylor Dziver, Tristen Steward, Vivian Dowdall, and Carys Owen in round robin play.

The U16 ‘B’ Chatham Thunder also took gold in Mississauga. Niyah Poole had a hat trick in the gold medal game.
