Sabourin Leads Hawks In Preaseason Tourny

The CKSS Golden Hawks girls hockey team opened their 2015-2016 girls hockey campaign sweeping the LKSSAA Preseason Tournament at the RBC Centre in Sarnia, going a perfect 3-0 while out scoring their opponents 18-0.

CKSS took a 4-0 win over Sarnia Nothern to open the tournament. Ryanne Logan opened the scoring for CKSS in the game, while Megan Hakr scored a pair, and Sydney Sabourin had a goal and an assist. Emma Gorski recorded the shutout between the pipes for the Golden Hawks.

In their second game, CKSS downed the Lambton-Kent Cardinals riding a 4 goal performance by Sydney Sabourin. Megan Hakr and Hailey Johnson also scored for the Hawks, while Ryanne Logan had 4 assists and Maia Collins added 3 helpers. Marandee Hunter was between the pipes for the shutout.

The Golden Hawks ended the round robin tournament with an 8-0 win over Sarnia St. Pats. Sydney Sabourin had a hat trick, and added an assist in the win, while Ryanne Logan had two goals and two assists. Julia Stephens, Payton Sabourin, and Megan Hakr also scored for CKSS while Mikayla Demaiter recorded the shutout.

Sydney Sabourin finished the one day tournament with 10 points in 3 games, while linemate Ryanne Logan had 9 points.

The Golden Hawks will open their 2015-2016 LKSSAA regular season schedule November 11 against the Lambton-Kent Cardinals.
