Wallaceburg Lacrosse Receives Trillium Grant

Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse has been named a recipient of a Trillium grant, totaling $266,800.

The BIG announcement was made during a kick-off party, featuring a double header of Red Devils and Thrashers lacrosse on Sunday.

Chris Dawson, Red Devils GM and former president of Wallaceburg Lacrosse advises that the substantial funds will be supplied over a three year period.

The grant dollars will fund lacrosse camps in the area as well as equipment and renovations to the dressing rooms at Memorial Arena.

As far as action on the floor, over 300 fans filled Memorial for the busy weekend.

The Jr B Red Devils fell to 1-1 after dropping their home opener on Sunday 14-6 to the Windsor Clippers.

The Sr B Thrashers dropped their first two games of the season including their home opener on Saturday, an 11-9 loss to Ennismore. That was followed with a 7-5 loss to Owen Sound in the second half of Sunday’s double header.

The Wallaceburg Griffins (minor lacrosse) are still looking for coaches. If interested, go to www.wallaceburglacrosse.com and follow the link to find an application.
