Chatham-Kent netminder Joseph Raaymakers is one of nine goaltenders attending the NHL Central Scouting’s 2016 NHL Draft Combine this week at the First Niagara Center and HarborCenter, in Buffalo, New York.

Raaymakers, who played for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds will look to impress NHL scouts and management through his performance in 12 fitness tests, a Functional Movement Screen, bike tests, and one-on-one interviews with NHL groups.

The Combine itself runs from May 30 to June 4.

“The Combine week is always an interesting event for Central Scouting that seems to go by very quickly,” said NHL Director of Central Scouting Dan Marr in an NHL release. “The goal is to present an event that allows NHL personnel to interact with the future stars of our game and assist the NHL clubs in their pursuit of gaining as much knowledge about the draft prospects as possible. Central Scouting looks forward to hosting the prospects during Combine week so that they can further showcase themselves.”

The 9th ranked North American netminder by Central Scouting, Raaymakers was 4th in the midterm rankings, and posted a 3.61 GAA and 0.891 save percentage through 28 games in the OHL this season.
