Leach Carries Pirates To Victory

Rich Leach was unstoppable as he helped carry the Sr. Pirates to a 6-4 victory over Wyoming Sr.

Leach looked sharp on the hill and on the plate.

Rick hit two RBI’s on a walk off home run for the Port Lambton Pirates in the seventh inning, his pitching late in the game was also outstanding. Leach looked sharp on the hill late in the game. Leach held Wyoming Sr hit-less over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Mich Donahue in his first career start pitched 6 inning of 7 hit ball while striking out 4. Mitch totaled 97 pitches.

Although Leach was a key factor, the win was a complete team effort on sunday. The Port Lambton Pirates hit two-run boosts in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh from all over the lineup.

In the fourth, the Port Lambton Pirates scored when Matt Johnston was hit by a pitch, scoring Craig Bezaire.

The Pirates host the Corunna Jr’s Wednesday at Vandamme Park in Port Lambton.
