After a long weekend away the Heuvelmans’ U-10 Chatham Thunder ringette team brought home the gold medal from the 2017 Waterloo Wildfire Ringette Winterfest Tournament.

The Thunder started with a 9-4 win over Waterloo S. Jocalin Hastings, Lilly Allado, and Keira Rivard all netted 2, while MaKayla Wilson, Brianna Badder, and Malarie Badder adding singles. Assists on the game were by Lilly Allado, Malarie Badder, Claire Forshee, and Tara Wilson.

Rivard scored 2 and assisted on 1 in a 5-3 victory over Waterloo C. Singles were added by Lilly Allado, Abby Janess, and Grace Norris. Assisting on the goals were Lilly Allado, Grace Norris, Keira Rivard, and MaKayla Wilson.

Saturday’s game against Oshawa proved to the be the girls hardest battle as the Chatham Thunder ended at a draw. Lilly Allado, Brooke Howe, Grace Norris, and Keira Rivard all had single markers, while Jocalin Hasting continued her scoring streak with two more goals on the  board in Chatham’s tie to Oshawa 6-6.  

With both teams entering the gold medal game with 2 wins and a tie. Chatham met the Oshawa team again on Sunday morning where the Thunder defeated Oshawa 11-6 in the Gold medal game. Jocalin Hastings finished the weekend strong with 4 and Kiera Rivard with a Hat Trick.

Abby Janess netted 2, and Lilly Allado and Grace Norris both scored 1 a piece. Assists in the game came from Lilly Allado, Jocalin Hastings, Keira Rivard, and Claire Turner. Goaltender, Addison Tope, was the winning goalie for each game.
