A local runner has qualified for the Boston Marathon.
Wallaceburg’s Bryan Cowden and Joe Perry both took part in the Friendly Massey Marathon in Northern Ontario on Sunday.
Cowden placed in the top five with a time of 3:08, qualifying him for Boston.
Perry finished 13th overall with a time of 3:27, just short of qualifying.
As it stands, Cowden, who just began running four years ago, joins Brian Horrobin as the only Wallaceburg representatives for next year’s Boston Marathon.
Perry has six weeks left to qualify for the April 2018 race.
