The Chatham Cricket Club managed to reach the finals of the inaugural season of the South Western Ontario Cricket League, falling to the Cavaliers Cricket Club of Windsor.

The new league features four teams from Windsor, including the University of Windsor, and one from Chatham, with hopes to expand the league to London and Sarnia next year.

Facing each other at Jackson Park in Windsor in the league final, Chatham CC won the toss and elected to bat first.

Chatham Cricket Club were all out for 109 runs in 26 overs. Windsor Cavaliers CC scored 110 runs in 20 overs. The Cavaliers CC won the match with 4 wickets in hand.

Irfan Khan was the leading run scorer for Chatham CC. He made 31 runs, followed by Rowan Elliot, who had 3 wickets for 16 runs.

Windsor’s Karan Addamane was named player of the match for the championship game. for his all round performance.

The 2018 South Western Ontario Cricket League schedule will begin in May 2018.
