The Chatham-Kent Police Service released a statement regarding the silent auction items stolen from John McGregor Secondary School, which were slated to help raise money for the Dave Allin Classic, in support of ALS.

“Chatham-Kent Police officers were dispatched to attend John McGregor Secondary School, Chatham, in response to a call of a break and enter,” the statement reads.

“John McGregor was set to host this year’s Dave Allin ALS Society fundraiser, and the items stolen were donated for this group to raise fund for the ALS Society. Through investigation and quick action on the officers on scene, the suspects were located and majority of the items stolen were returned approximately 5 hours after the break and enter occurred.”

The Dave Allin Classic tournament is held each year in remembrance of Dave “Grouch” Allin, featuring area elementary school basketball teams, and in support of the ALS Society.
