Maroons Drop Playoff Opener

The Chatham Maroons lost their playoff opener Wednesday night against the LaSalle Vipers, falling in a hard fought 3-2 overtime decision.

Chatham got on the board first as Jake O’Donnell scored a powerplay goal from Ryan Sarris only 3:44 into the first period.

LaSalle would even things up in the first, and then following a scoreless second, take the lead in the third.

Chatham continued to fight however, with Dakota Bohn, assisted by Grant Spence and Bryce Yetman, tying the game with only 1:13 remaining in the third.

It wasn’t to be though, as LaSalle in the first overtime to hand Chatham the loss, and go up 1-0 in their best-of-seven series.

Game 2 is tonight, Thursday, March 1 at Chatham Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at 7pm.
