The Bantam A Chatham Outlaws won the Guelph Winter Classic Tournament on the weekend in dramatic fashion.

The outlaws went 6-0-0, winning in a shootout after a double OT of 4-on-4 and 3-on-3 against the Windsor Wildcats in the finals. Chatham scored with 5.9 seconds left to tie the game and force it into OT. Abby Balan was the lone goal scorer in the SO.

The Outlaws won round robin games against Durham West (5-1), Stoney Creek (3-0), Cambridge (4-2) and Nepean (2–1). Defeated Flamborough (4-2) in the Semis. Round robin game MVP’s included Riley Bentley, Abby Balan, Avery Haines and Jaycie Granger.

The key to the success of the Outlaws this weekend was the contributions from all 3 lines and stellar goal tending from both Avery Haines and Libby Barnard.
