Play in the Chatham Ball hockey League is closing in on the midway point. The league is in its second season under a new organizing group. As in previous years, the divisions are forced to combine age groups in order to have a viable league.

This year they are running four novice teams, for peewee teams and three bantam/junior teams. In ball hockey there is no juvenile age group, as most centers require players 18+ to play in adult leagues. In Chatham we have allowed some overaged players with experience in the league to play, to help with the numbers and caliber of the division. The bantam/junior division has always been a showcase of players with Jr. B and C experience in the Chatham Kent area.

As someone who recently ran the league, I can honestly say that ball hockey is a very fun and entertaining game to play, or watch. League play is Monday and Tuesday nights at Erickson. Game times are 6-8 pm with the bantam/junior teams always being the late start. If you are looking for a little free entertainment, come out and catch a game.
