TSN Reporting TJ Brodie Is On The Trade Block

What would the NHL offseason be without rumours and speculation.

It’s hitting close to home this time however, as TSN reported that Calgary Flames defenseman TJ Brodie of Dresden could be on the trade block this summer.

“I’ve been hearing a lot that Calgary is very intent on moving a defenceman, either Travis Hamonic or TJ Brodie. Brodie and Hamonic are two names we’re hearing a lot of because the Flames have good young defencemen they feel can take over for one of those guys,” said TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

Brodie had 9 goals and 34 points in 79 games while averaging more than 21-minutes of ice per night.

He’s entering the final year of his contract with a $4.65 million cap hit. Brodie also has an eight-team no-trade list.
