Lucas Vanroboys will play NCAA Division I hockey next season for the Bentley University Falcons.

Vanroboys, a Thamesville product, spent this season with the BCHL’s Prince George Spruce Kings, falling in the National Junior A Championship final.

Vanroboys chose Bentley for a variety of reasons, not only for hockey.

“I chose Bentley because it has one of the best business programs in America, with unreal job placements if hockey doesn’t work out,” said Vanroboys.

“Also, the coaches believe in my style of game and think I’ll be able to jump in and make an impact right away.”

In 42 games in the BCHL this season, Vanroboys scored 10 goals and 23 points. He added 9 points in 17 playoff games.

An OHL draft pick of the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2015, Vanroboys played for South Kent prep prior to moving to the BCHL.

This past season, Bentley had a 16-13-5 record. They play in the NCAA’s Atlantic Hockey Association.
