Balkwill Signs With Can-Am League’s Ottawa Champions
Chatham baseball player Larry Balkwill is returning to the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball after signing with the Ottawa Champions.
The catcher, who had been playing with the London Majors in the Intercounty league after being released by the Chicago Dogs of the American Association, who he started the season with, signed with Ottawa earlier this week.
The 28-year-old, who is a former draft pick of the Detroit Tigers, is entering his second stint in the Can-Am League.
He played with the Quebec Capitales of the Can-Am League in 2014.
In his first game with Ottawa, Balkwill went 1-for-4 with a single, and a run.
