Off Ice Training Tip: Figure 8 Stickhandling
The arenas are closed, offseason has started early, so let’s get to work.
You might not be able to hit the gym, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work on your stickhandling, footwork, and agility at home. We’ll be highlighting some drills each week to help you improve.
This week is a simple figure 8 stickhandling pattern. Set up a few pucks or cups for cones, use a tennis ball, golf ball, or off ice puck and follow the instructions below.
You can never been too good of a puckhandler, and repetition of these drills, improving from slow and focused, to head up, fast, and smooth will help.
