Bill Cole Is Watching Things He Shouldn’t Be In A World Without Sports…So Are The Rest Of Us
It was necessary and considering what has transpired it is not high on the list of importance. But none the less for a sports guy this was hard to take.
Especially considering the time of year with the Stanly Cup playoffs set to go, The NBA season winding down and the Major League Baseball season firing up. Not to mention all the junior hockey fun we lost. At the time I don’t think it registered exactly what a world without a sports would be like and, well, it’s pretty bleak.
I am watching things on TV I didn’t know existed. And really shouldn’t. Have you seen this show Naked and Afraid? Not only do they send 2 people into the jungle without out food or water, but also without drawers. There are so many baking shows I can’t keep track. And some lady who calls herself Dr. Pimple Popper. It’s exactly as it’s billed and I couldn’t get through the…previously on Dr. Pimple Popper.
Thank goodness for the ESPN documentary on Michael Jordan and the Bulls. It was outstanding. I think. I am not a judge anymore after I watched an hour and a half of the CFL draft. I also watched several NBA players matched up in a game of H-O-R-S-E. It has not been easy and I can’t wait for athletics to return, the distraction will be appreciated and we can get back to normal when it’s safe.
We don’t know what the new normal will look like. No one knows when games will begin and when we can return to the arenas, stadiums, and ball parks. But there are more important things we need to deal with now. So we can think about sports, dream about the smells of the ball parks, the hot dogs. But until then we’ve always got Cuthroat Kitchen, The Great Food Truck Race, Celebrity Ghost Stories, Extreme Couponing, and My Feet Are Killing Me. Picture Dr. Pimple Popper and feet.
