OHL Has No Intention To Move American Team To Chatham, Or Any Other Ontario City This Season

It appears after some speculation about OHL teams potentially moving to Ontario cities to play their season, that this will not be happening.

Chatham-Kent CAO Don Shropshire confirmed Monday, that although the Municipality of Chatham-Kent was open to a conversation, that the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) confirmed to Municipal officials that they have no intention of moving American based teams.

“We have confirmed the OHL has no plans to move teams based in the USA,” Shropshire told CKSN.ca.

While some discussion has occurred surrounding what American based teams will do with borders remaining closed to be able to participate in the OHL season, it appears the answer is not relocation.

The OHL plans to open training camps November 15, with exhibition games beginning November 20.
