Training camps are now open for all 31 NHL teams with the regular season just over a week away.

Dresden’s TJ Brodie will suit up for a new team for the first time in his NHL career after leaving the Calgary Flames this offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 30-year-old had 19 points in 64 games last season.

Clachan’s Travis Konecny will look to build on an NHL season that saw the 23-year-old make an NHL All Star game appearance. He led the Philadelphia Flyers in scoring with 24 goals and 61 points in 66 games.

Starting training camp earlier with one of the seven non-playoff teams, former Tilbury resident Brandon Montour will look for a bounce back season with the Buffalo Sabres after missing almost a month due to injury last season.

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith will have more roster spots available with the creation of taxi squads. Griffith was part of the Edmonton Oilers 23-man forward roster for training camp. If he doesn’t stick, he’ll be in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors.
