The Blenheim Blades had a Sunday night outing with the always powerful Lakeshore Canadians , and for awhile looked like they pull off a win.

The Blades struck early when just over a minute into the game Sebastian Stubberfield got a shot past Lakeshore goalie Trevor Heslop. It would take the Canadians five minutes to respond when Eric Bisson replied, breaking in and beating Blades goaltender Caleb Pinsonneault to tie up the game.

That would be all the scoring in the first .

It would remain tied until just over halfway through the second, when while on the power play, Canadians captain Dylan Weston scored to give them the lead. In the dying seconds Blades captain Ben Barnard fired a hard shot that beat Heslop to send the teams to their dressing rooms once again tied.

Nine seconds into the third , the Canadians found themselves on the power play and took full advantage of it , when Josh Cyrenne scored to take the lead. Thirty seconds later , Lakeshore’s Eric Larue gave his team an insurance marker. Lakeshore’s Adam pizzo would score an empty netter with a minute remaining to finish the at 5-2. The Blades had periods of time where they really struggled in their zone against the highly skilled Lakeshore team That being said , they did have small stretches where they were giving the Canadian a rough time. Blades goaltender Pinsonneault, definitely faced some strong scoring attempts and was able to hold his team in the game.

The Blades next have a rare Thursday night home game when
host Amherstburg, 7pm puck drop.
