Dresden’s Wes Cunningham is headed back to the Greenville Road Warriors for the upcoming hockey season.

The Road Warriors, members of the ECHL, announced this week that Cunningham is one of three defensemen to sign a contract for the 2011-2012 season.

This will mark Cunningham’s fourth year as a pro. He spent two years with the Elmira Jackals, also of the ECHL, before joining the Road Warriors last season. In 69 games, he had seven goals and 36 assists, which tied him for most assists among league defensemen.

The Road Warriors have affiliation agreements with the New York Rangers and its AHL affiliate, the Connecticut Whale.

David Reddick is also the auther of the CK Hockey Heroes Blog.
