Hokey Langan Named Ohio State Captain

Chatham’s Hokey Langan has been named the team captain of the NCAA’s Ohio State Buckeyes women’s ice hockey team.

Langan, a graduate of Chatham-Kent Secondary School, is entering her senior year with Ohio State.

Langan holds the record for points by a freshman for OSU after totalling 21 goals and 22 assists in her rookie NCAA season. She was named the WCHA rookie of the year that season, and won the WCHA scoring crown.

In her sophmore season, Langan finished third in team scoring, battling injuries, with 13 goals and 18 assists.

Last year, her Junior season, Langan returned to health, playing all 36 games, scoring 8 goals and adding 13 assists.

Ohio State will open their schedule September 28 and 29 against Lindenwood.
