Preston Named CIS Volleyball Coach of the Year

Chatham’s Dave Preston, head coach of the OUA Champion McMaster Marauders men’s volleyball team has been named the CIS Coach of the Year at the annual men’s volleyball awards.

Preston, also named the OUA coach of the year, led his Marauders to their fourth OUA championship in six years this season. This is his 11th season as the head coach of McMaster’s men’s volleyball program.

“Dave has done a remarkable job over his time at McMaster,” McMaster director of operations Jeff Giles said in a CIS press release. “He talks about doing things in the “McMaster Way” and that includes dedication, hard work and always challenging yourself. We are very proud of his team and his recognition as coach of the year.”

Preston was previously named both the OUA and CIS Coach of the Year in 2008.

Dave Preston will now lead his McMaster Marauders in the CIS Championships March 1-3 at Laval University in Quebec.
