Chatham’s Kim Wood, who was a participant in the Boston Marathon this week when a tragic bombing killed multiple people and wounded hundreds, wants people to keep running, and spoke of the resiliency of the people of Boston in a recent message.

“Still in Boston tonight,” Wood wrote on her company’s, Downtown Chatham’s Up & Running, Facebook page Tuesday. “This is not a town to get knocked down easily, good to see people trying to return to some sense of normalcy. We are truly saddened and stunned. Thanks to all for the kind words, please keep your thoughts on those who were injured or worse here on April 15th.”

Wood, who competes in several races and marathons each year, and runs run clubs and running events through Up & Running, also stated that although the events in Boston are unforgettable, it’s important for people to get back on the road and run,

“There is no getting past an event like this, but the best we can do is get back on our feet and show the world that runners are not the type to stay down for long. Keep running, and we hope to see you on the road soon. Don’t ever forget how lucky you are to be able to go out and run, and enjoy truly feeling alive.”
