Chatham’s Bridget Carleton helped the Canadian Under 16 Women’s National Basketball team roll over Venezuela in the opening game of the FIBA Americas.

Carleton was 4-for-6 shooting, scoring 10-points as one of six Canadians to hit double digits in the lopsided 94-23 win for Canada.

Carleton, who will enter grade 11 at John McGregor Secondary School next year, also added 2 rebounds and 4 assists for Canada.

Named a co-captain for the team, Carleton and Canada will play Puerto Rico on Thursday and Mexico on Friday to round out pool play.
