Sting Suffer Fourth Straight Loss

Soccer-Ball-GrassThe Wallaceburg Sting men’s soccer team seem to have hit a road bump. After stringing together five consecutive victories (league and cup play, combined), they’ve now dropped four games in a row, their most recent defeat by a 4-1 margin to London Marconi.

The Sting went into the half tied 1-1, but were forced to play the entire second half with only 10 men due to injury. Playing a man down for the game’s duration took its toll, and led to three unanswered goals scored by London Marconi. The Sting’s lone goal scorer was striker, Matt Craven.

The Sting next play on Tuesday, August 20 in a make-up game vs. Sarnia FC. Kick-off at Kinsmen Park is set for 6:30 PM. This game will prove vital to the season standings as Sarnia sits only one point behind Wallaceburg. The Sting will follow-up with their final home game on Saturday, August 24 (5:00 PM) when they host London Bosnia in an equally important tilt.
