McArthur Wins OUA Track and Field Title With Windsor

Wallaceburg’s Taylor McArthur won a 2014 OUA Track and Field team title as a member of the University of Windsor Men’s Track and Field team this past weekend in Toronto.

Windsor claimed their 15th title in the last 16 seasons, finishing with a total of 158 points, 5 more than second place Guelph.

McArthur, a graduate of Ursuline College Chatham, collected 3-points in each of his events for the Windsor Lancers, with a pair of 6th place finishes.

In the 1000m final, McArthur crossed the finish line in 2:28.06, only 2 seconds off the leader. In the 1500m final, McArthur also crossed the finish line in 6th with a time of 3:53.63.

McArthur is the 17th ranked CIS runner at the 1000m distance, and 15th at the 1500m distance. The Windsor Lancers enter the CIS Championships in Edmonton March 6-8.
