The Wallaceburg Red Devils and Point Edward Pacers couldn’t solve their deadlock, playing to a 7-7 tie through overtime Wednesday night.

Corey Lucier, who is the team’s leading scorer, got things going for Wallaceburg in the first period, with an assist coming from Brendan Johnston.

In the second, Johnston continued to make a strong debut, scoring twice in the frame. Evan Mathany also scored a pair, while Kyle Dawson had a single goal.

Entering the third period up 6-4, Wallaceburg couldn’t hold onto their lead. Ryleigh Taylor opened the scoring in the third putting Wallaceburg up another, but Point Edward fought back to tie the game, with overtime solving nothing.

Lucier finished the game with 5-points, improving upon his team leading totals of 15 goals, 20 assists, and 35 points in only 7 games.

Wallaceburg plays in London Thursday, before hosting a pair of home games against St. Catherines and Orangeville this weekend.
