A full season has been an illusive goal for Chatham’s Andy Fantuz in recent years, as they slotback was struck by injury again last weekend.

The Hamilton Tiger Cats placed Fantuz on the six-game injured list, after he suffered an elbow injury last weekend against the Toronto Argonauts.

While the injury to Fantuz, and running back CJ Gable, who was also placed on the six-game injured list are a set back, Hamilton head coach Kent Austin says he expects the team to continue to perform well.

“We have total faith that their replacements will play well,” said Austin in an August 5 press conference.

When asked about the length of the injuries, Austin believed both players would be able to return before the CFL playoffs.

“Right now it doesn’t look like it’s going to be season ending,” said Austin.

They both help the offense, especially Andy in the passing game,” continued Austin of the impact Fantuz has on his team.

Fantuz had 30 catches, for 311 yards this season in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Fantuz is in his 10th CFL season.
