Blenheim’s Blayne Oliver will get a chance to showcase his skills in front of NHL and College scouts as he was selected to participate in the Eastern Canada All Star Challenge, which is being held in Cornwall, Ontario from November 16-18.

Oliver, who is in his second season of Junior A hockey with the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks, will play in the event, originally coined the Central Canada Cup, which takes the best players from the OJHL, NOJHL, CCHL, LHJQ, and MHL.

The 180 players selected are divided into 9 teams, with Oliver suiting up for Team OJHL Nieuwendyk.

In 19 OJHL games this season, Oliver has 9 assists and 12 penalty minutes. The six-foot defender had 28 points including 6 goals last season with Trenton.

Oliver was the runner up for the OJHL’s Fan Favourite Award last season.

Oliver is a former Chatham Maroon and is a product of the Blenheim Minor Hockey and Chatham-Kent Cyclones systems.
