February 26 Sports Brief


It’s all tied up at 1 game apiece between the Blenheim Blades and the Amherstburg Admirals.  The Admirals with a 5-2 win over the Blades last night.

Ryan Alexander with goals for the Admirals in the first period, he would add one more before the night is over to earn the hat-trick.

Amherstburg Coach Paul Bourtigon says Alexander has been having a good series, racking up 4 goals



Game 3 is Saturday night in Blenheim, game time is 7:30.  The Essex 73’s take their 2 games to nothing lead over the Mooretown Flags back home, Saturday for game 3

The Wallaceburg Minor Midget Lakers will host game 3 of their OMHA semi-final series on Saturday night at Memorial Arena.  Game time is 7:20.  The Minor Midgets lead the series 2 games to none.

The Chatham Maroons with a 6-3 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires last night in Jr B action.  The win gives the Maroon’s home ice advantage going into the playoffs

The Lambton Kent Cardinals will be facing Amherstburg in the SWOSSAA A-AA Sr Boys Hockey championships.  A win for the Cardinals will give them a birth at OFSSAA in Ottawa next month

The UCC Lancers will host the St. Anne Saints for the SWOSSA AAA girls Hockey Championships on Monday.

The Chatham Kent Golden Hawks will host Windsor Holy Names on Monday in the SWOSSAA ‘AAA’ Sr Girls Volleyball finals.  This is a make-up game after the original game was cancelled last week due to the weather
