CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsThe Chatham Maroons now have a strangle hold on their series with the St. Thomas Stars.  The Maroons with a 7-2 win last night and that gives them a 3 games to none lead in the series.  The Maroons looking to close out the series on the road tomorrow night in St. Thomas.

The Dresden Major Midgets with 2 big wins over the weekend against the Port Dover Pirates.  Both games with the same score 3 – Nothing.  With the weekend wins the Major Midgets now move onto the OMHA finals against the Tween Hawks.  The schedule for that series will be posted this week.

The Wallaceburg Lakers will hold Spring Tryout Camp on Friday April the 15th and on Sunday the 17th.  There will be a $50 tryout fee that must be paid before you skate with the team and a permission form must be filled out.  You can find the permission form on the teams website.  Tryouts will be held at the Blenheim Arena.

Joseph Raaymaker was tall between the pipes as the Saulte St Marie Greyhounds edged out the Guelph Storm 5-4 in the OHL.  The North Bay Battalion with a 8-2 spanking over Flint, London grabbed a 4-1 win over Kitchener.  On the other side of the score sheets the Hamilton Bulldogs took it on the chin as the Ottawa 67’s down them 4-1, Kingston doubled up Windsor 6-3 and Mississauga edged out Sudbury 2-1

Jordan Durston with a pair of goals in a losing effort Saturday night as the Buffalo Bandits scored a 13-8 win over the Vancouver Stealth in the National Lacrosse League.

And the Chatham Ballhawks U16 girls grabbed the gold on Saturday at the U16 Bugurski U16 Cup in London.
