Beenackers Named Chatham Maroons Next Captain

Muirkirk’s Steven Beenackers will have a bigger role this coming season with the Chatham Maroons, as the 20-year-old forward has been named captain of the Chatham Maroons for the 2016-2017 season.

Last year the 6’3″ Beenackers was an assistant captain for the Maroons, scoring 19 goals and 50 points in 46 games.

In his four year GOJHL career, during which he spent one season with the Lambton Shores Predators, Beenackers has 165 career points in 191 games.

A 9th round draft pick of the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack, Beenackers is a local product of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ organization.
