Chatham-Kent swimmers Genevieve Sasseville and Madison Broad have been selected to swim for Team Ontario at an upcoming meet in the USA.

Both local swimmers compete with the Chatham Y Pool Sharks.

“What’s amazing is that we had two swimmers selected to Team Ontario from a small community like Chatham-Kent; it’s proof that great athletes can come from small communities,” said Pool Sharks Head Coach Kyle Pinsonneault.

“Both girls have worked so hard to get to this point in their athletic careers and we are very proud of them. The training and competition experience will be well worth it for them, and something they won’t soon forget.”

The duo, Sasseville who is 14, and Broad who is 16, left from Toronto this week to spend 10 days with Team Ontario, before competing at the Arena Pro Series Meet in Indianapolis.

The Arena Pro series meet will take place March 2 – 4 on the campus of IUPUI and will draw some of the fastest swimmers worldwide.
