The Kent Cobras Bantam AE team became OMHA Champions this weekend in Brampton in game 6 of their series.

After being down 5 points to 3 going into Friday’s game, the Cobras battled hard to pull off a 4-2 win in Tilbury against the Brampton 456s to force game 6.

On Sunday, the Cobra’s traveled to Brampton. After being down 1-0 going into the second period and having a goal waved off, the boys never gave up and battled to tie the game in the second. The 45s scored with 6 minutes left in the third but again that only made the Cobras stronger and they tied the game with 29 seconds left to force overtime. Overtime was short lived when they scored 58 seconds in to claim the Championship.

Kent Minor Hockey has not had a team win a championship since 2001-2002.
