Pataki, Green Passed Over In CFL Draft

Chatham-Kent football products Jonah Pataki and Clark Green were not selected Sunday in the eight round CFL Draft.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected Faith Ekakitie first overall, a defensive lineman from Brampton, Ontario, who played for the University of Iowa.

Pataki excelled at the CFL Combine, showing off his athleticism at the Ontario Regional Combine, earning an invitation to the National Combine. A Wallaceburg product, Jonah Pataki set career highs for rushing yards (814) and rushing yards per game (101.8), while also scoring 7 rushing touchdowns for the Queens University Gaels this year.

Green attended the Ontario Regional Combine, and was considered one of the top kickers available in the draft. Clark Green spent last season kicking for the University of Windsor Lancers. Green went 11-for-17 on field goals, and averaged 36.7 yards punting.

Both players are likely to earn free agent invites to CFL camps.
