Chatham’s Bridget Carleton and Team Canada won gold at the 2017 AmeriCup in Argentina.

Canada edged Argentina 67-65 in the gold medal game.

Chatham born Miranda Ayim was one of the top Canadian scorers with 10 points and 6 rebounds in the win.

Carelton, who did not make it onto the court in the gold medal game, averaged 10.1 minutes of playing time over the course of the tournament as a rookie to Canada.

Canada also secured a spot in the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Spain.
