GOJHL Cancels Showcase Amidst Controversy

The GOJHL seems to be undergoing continued struggles, after it was made known a group of teams in the league were unhappy, and considering leaving Ontario’s top Junior B loop.

Considered by most to be on par or above calibre to many Junior A teams and loops in Ontario, the competition in the GOJHL is looking to take the next step.

Unfortunately, this ongoing issue between the GOJHL and GOJHL Inc, or the “Group of 15,” is having a negative impact on the players in the league.

The first casualty appears to be the leagues annual Showcase Weekend.

Originally made an exhibition weekend after only 18 of the league’s 25 teams chose to participate, the GOJHL was forced to cancel the event when the Ontario Hockey Association refused to supply referees for the weekend.

The GOJHL’s statement state they were looking to reschedule the event.
